Meet the Real Sir Wrinkles

The real bulldog, Sir Wrinkles, was chosen from among many outstanding male bulldog puppies to be the ambassador for the Sir Wrinkles books. Descended from a long line of champions, Sir Wrinkles is an impressively handsome bulldog. He is a loveable, sweet natured, gentle companion, whose large soulful eyes touch your heart. From the time he could walk, Sir Wrinkles trained for public appearances. His love of people, and excellent obedience and social skills made him welcome wherever he went.

Sir Wrinkles has overcome a great deal in his life. At four months old, he began having difficulty walking. After being examined by several specialists, Sir Wrinkles was diagnosed with a painful condition in which the bones in his front legs grew unevenly, causing them to bow outward and eventually fracture. Because of the pain and the leg fractures, there came a time when Sir Wrinkles was unable to walk. The doctors were uncertain if he would ever walk again. With the use of an experimental drug to help his bones mend, and with daily physical therapy, Sir Wrinkles gradually improved. Despite his pain, Sir Wrinkles patiently endured his therapies, always doing what was asked of him. His courage, endurance and steadfast perseverance eventually led to Sir Wrinkles' recovery.

A happy, Sir Wrinkles enjoyed visiting schools, libraries and hospitals. At each event he patiently sat watching the audience, as author Alice Kalomas read his stories to children. When the story ended, Sir Wrinkles would vibrate in anticipation of his time to share licks and hugs with his adoring fans. Children of all ages loved this remarkable English bulldog.

Currently, Sir Wrinkles' health is somewhat fragile. Therefore, he now is retired in Texas where he lives a comfortable, well cared for life. Although he is greatly missed, Sir Wrinkles will always be the beloved ambassador of Sir Wrinkles Press.
